Formation of Group

The 2 person group was formed at complex situation. I was struggling with my personal problem with IND. Bob formulate the plan to develop a meaningful digital media application. We wrote a prototype plan to develop an assessment based on marketing research. It was on the idea that DESAN (marketing research company) was working with interviewing technology for the market research. So a marketing research course illustrating DESAN tools was a good idea. The portfolio was divided as under:
Responsibilities:

Bob Stam:
Project Manager
Content developer
Quality manager

Arjun Bikram Sharma:
System Analyst
Interface designer
Interaction designer
Application developer

Work Process

As a project manager Bob facilitated all resources and environment with guidelines for prototype development. But later Bob became busy with his own work. I was also disturbed in order to sort out things for IND.  So the assigned dates were hard to follow. Though we discussed several time with face to face communication as well as emails. This helped us to again continue and complete the prototype. Bob as a content developer provided some contents. I was mostly concentrated on ASP programming for assessment and interactivity. Most of the time was used for server side scripting.  So I could give very less time in graphical design. This was also the reason that I dropped my plan to use the menu and sub menu system..

Interaction and communication

Because of my login problem with the SHU portal I used informal methods of interaction and communication with group member, tutor and other peers. The informal interactions medium were generally face to face meetings, emails and telephone. It was more effective then virtual and synchronous communication. But to arrange such communication times for interaction was more difficult. The feedback from the peer, group member and tutor are included in during the development of prototype and portfolio.
